"Communion Still Life"

This painting was commissioned by someone who loved the style of old Dutch paintings and wanted something that represented her Christian faith. We decided to do a communion still life in a similar manner to the way the old Dutch masters use to paint their still lifes. The homes in this time period had high windows that were chest high and above, so I mimicked the lighting in this painting to appear as if it was coming from a high window.
